Shillong, Feb 16: The BJP state president Ernest Mawrie wrote to the chief minister Conrad Sangma on Tuesday seeking clarification from him on the recent joining of the five Congress legislators without discussing it with the BJP as a coalition partner.
Mawrie told reporters that the letter was submitted based on the decision taken at the recent core committee meeting of the party held in the presence of BJP central leader Chuba Ao and party MLAs AL Hek and Sanbor Shullai.
“I have already handed over the letter yesterday and the CM has conveyed that after returning from Delhi he will give the reply to that letter,” he said.
According to Mawrie, the party in the letter has asked for clarification that the CM has not discussed with the BJP as the partner in the MDA government on the joining of the Congress MLAs.
The BJP had earlier termed the joining of the Congress legislators as accepting its ideology.
