Shillong, May 18: The body of Trophimos Khongmawdoh, who was beaten to death allegedly by the headman of Pynter and Village Defence Party (VDP) members, was exhumed on Monday ( May 18).
East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem told reporters that the investigation will progress depending on the outcome of the post-mortem.

“The body was supposed to be exhumed on Friday but due to inclement weather the body was exhumed today,” Syiem said.
Post-mortem was done on the spot. We will await the report of the post-mortem to ascertain whether he was murdered or whether he died of natural cause, the SP added.
