BSF seizes 45 cattle in state border

Shillong, April 8: The BSF, Meghalaya on Thursday seized 45 cattle, which were about to be smuggled to Bangladesh from East Khasi Hills and West Jaintia Hills districts.
The cattle were hidden in dense bushes just 200 meter from the international boundary. In a statement, the BSF Meghalaya said it had seized 1047 cattle worth Rs 1.6 crore since beginning of current year. Apart from enhancing vigil on border, the BSF Meghalaya had put up mobile check posts at vulnerable routes to check movement of cattle.
