Shillong, Nov ,5 : The cabinet has approved the proposal for establishing Meghalaya State Veterinary Dairy and Fishery Science University in Ri Bhoi district.
Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said that the decision was taken last week.

He said necessary instruction has been given to the department concerned to bring back the draft bill of the university and to work out details on the financial implication so that the cabinet will accordingly accord approval.
Tynsong said the veterinary department has over 800 acres of land at Kyrdemkulai hence , it has been decided that the university will be set up in that area.
As far as the national school of law is concerned, the proposed bill was sent back to the department concerned, he added.
