
Shillong, July 27: Cabinet has approved the Meghalaya Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy 2026 towards promoting clean and sustainable mobility in the state.
Speaking to reporters after the cabinet neeting, the goverment spokesperson and cabinet minister Marcuise Marak said to encourage the adoption of electric vehicles, the government will provide an incentive of Rs 25,000 to every individual purchasing an EV, along with a complete waiver of vehicle registration fees. This policy reflects our commitment to building a greener Meghalaya by reducing emissions, encouraging clean transportation, and making electric mobility more accessible and affordable for our citizens.
