Shillong, Aug 14: The cantonment authorities are yet to repair a collapsed retaining wall in Jhalupara near the community hall.
The wall started falling apart from Thursday evening and at 2. 30 am on Friday, there was maximum damage.
According to the residents, the retaining wall was built without following any building norms resulting in the accident.
While demanding an inquiry into the matter, the residents asked the concerned authorities to repair the wall at the earliest as the earlier requests had gone in vain.
A resident staying close to the collapsed wall said it was damaged due to technical fault during its construction by the cantonment.
The wall that fell on the compound of another resident has also caused inconvenience to the family.
