Shillong, Sept 22: Senior Congress legislator Charles Pyngrope said on Wednesday that it would be good if the AICC interim president Sonia Gandhi meets both the Congress leaders from the state, Vincent Pala and Mukul Sangma to discuss the grievances.
After Shillong MP Vincent Pala was appointed as MPCC president by the AICC, the CLP leader Mukul Sangma felt humiliated due to lack consultations on the part of the High Command.
“Both the leaders can meet the party president in Delhi to end the differences”, Pyngrope said.
To a question, Pyngrope said as per Congress tradition, only the elected MLAs can decide who will be the CLP leader after the polls.
He also said as far as ticket allotment is concerned for the 2023 polls, the task is entrusted to the election committee and there is no deviation from it.
