FANS recalls contribution of Netaji

Forum for Awareness of National Security organises event

Shillong, Sept 23: Forum for Awareness of National Security( FANS), a non -political and non -religious organisation with its head office in New Delhi, has recalled the contribution of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on Wednesday.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Deeya S Rathore, the state coordinator and general secretary of FANS, Meghalaya, said this year being significant in Netaji’s life history – year of his 125th Birth Anniversary- FANS, Meghalaya organised the programme on his life and  contribution towards India’s freedom struggle at Meghalaya Administrative Training Institute (MATI).
Guest speakers on the occasion were former  Ambassador Rudi Warjri and Vice Principal of St Edmund’s College, Monotosh Chakraborty.
The participants paid tribute  to  Netaji for his outstanding contribution to the cause of country’s independence from foreign yoke, including his relevance in  the context of national security and the need for emotional integration of the entire nation for which he timelessly worked all his life.
Rathore said it was keeping in mind the urgent need for the citizens to understand the existing national security scenario and each one’s responsibility towards it,  the organisation was formed to study, analyse, collate and disseminate information regarding all aspects of national security, including internal, external, regional and global security so as to motivate and involve the citizens of India  for active participation in the security of the state.
The FANS started its Meghalaya Chapter in 2019.
Office bearers
While retired IPS officials, Peter J Hanaman,  Anil Pradhan and BR Rana, are president, advisor and  the general secretary of FAN respectively,  former Additional Advocate General of Meghalaya and senior advocate SP Mahanta is the vice president.
Rathore is the state co-ordinator cum general secretary and Vijay Goyal the treasurer.
