Charles, Pale submit replies to notice to Speaker

Shillong, Dec 17: The MLAs, Charles Pyngrope and Shitlang Pale, who joined the TMC submitted their replies to Assembly Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh, on Friday.
Earlier, ten other MLAs had explained their stand to the Speaker.
First, the Congress had filed petitions against 10 legislators seeking their disqualification under anti defection law followed by another batch of petitions against Charles and Pale on December 10.
Charles said the group has justifed the merger of Congress MLAs with the AITC and hoped that the Speaker will give his ruling at the earliest .
The CLP leader, Ampareen Lyngdoh said the opposition Congress would soon meet the Assembly Speaker to follow up the petitions seeking the disqualification of 12 MLAs.
“We will try to seek an appointment with the Speaker to once again review the opposition as it was,” Lyngdoh told reporters on Friday after meeting the chief minister Conrad Sangma.
The Congress wanted clarity on who are the opposition members as it is divided following the exit of 12 MLAs and this matter was also discussed with the chief minister.
