CM absent at oath-taking ceremony, HM Shangpliang from Cong attends

Shillong,Nov 5:  Chief Minister Conrad Sangma could not attend the oath taking ceremony of new MLAs, Abdus Saleh, Pyniaid Syiem (both NPP) and Eugeneson Lyngdoh (UDP), on Friday.

Later, the chief minister told a gathering of NPP that he had to attend two functions in Jowai.

From the Congress, the lone participant at the swearing-in ceremony was HM Shangpliang (in picture).
