Shillong, Oct 17: Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Vincent Pala said on Monday that by December, the party will be able to complete the process of selection of candidates following which the list will be released.
The procedures of recommendation of Block Congress Committee and District Congress Committee will also be followed, he said, adding the MPCC will be able to complete the process by mid November.
He said the AICC will form an election committee and there will be a screening committee as well.
No CM candidate
Reiterating that he will contest the Assembly elections, the MPCC president Vincent Pala said though he is ready to contest the polls from Sutnga-Saipung, he will not be projected as CM candidate.
“I will contest the elections, there is no system of projecting any face as CM candidate, we will see when we cross the bridge”, he said.
On the agenda of the party, the MPCC president said the people of the state know the corruption level of the present government and also the works they have done. The people are just waiting, we are coming out with new ideas and we are in the process of finalising our manifesto so we will be able to tell how we intend to boost health sector, better infrastructure facilities, including roads and other development issues.
