Containment measures to continue in state due to rise in cases
Shillong, July 2: The state government has extended containment measures beyond July 3.
“Containment measures will continue to be enforced in the state with effect from July 3 until further orders”, Chief Secretary MS Rao said in his order on Friday.
The order said that it was observed that the number of Covid-19 cases in the state is still very high and there is a significant spread in rural areas of the state.
According to the order, the central and state government offices will function with 30 % strength.
“Essential departments of the state government will function at strength as may be decided by the administrative head”, the order said, adding that private offices may open thrice a week subject to prior permission from the Deputy Commissioners and Sub-Divisional Officers (Civil).
The chief secretary also urged all employees of the government and private offices to get themselves vaccinated.
