Cooking skill training held in Williamnagar
Shillong,Aug 1: Meghalaya State Skill Development Society (MSSDS) in collaboration with Tourism Department and Northeast Institute of Professional Studies (NeIPS) completed basic cooking skills training for East Garo Hills entrepreneurs at Williamnagar from July 29 to August 1 aimed at empowering local entrepreneurs in the tourism industry.
Funded by MSSDS, the training was tailored to enhance the culinary skills of entrepreneurs managing home stays, guest houses, and restaurants in the region.
In a statement, Michael Thongni, CEO, NeIPS expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Conrad Sangma for helping the state’s entrepreneurs. “If the people of the state are equipped with skills in entrepreneurship, the state will thrive in its revenue”, he said.
The initiative marks a crucial step in bolstering the local tourism sector and providing valuable skills to entrepreneurs, contributing to the economic growth of the region, he said.
