Deal on power sub stations put on hold, CM to examine all aspects  

Shillong, May 17: The state government has put on hold the deal with M/S Broadcasting Engineering Consultants Corporation Limited (BECIL) to operate 33/11 KV 56 sub-stations.

Chief Minister Conrad Sangma told reporters on Monday that till a decision is made after proper examination, the deal will not be made operational.

“I will examine the matter at my level and till a decision is made, the matter will be put on hold”, the chief minister said.

According to Conrad, the initial reports from MeECL said that local employment will be ensured while implementing the project.

Moreover, the MeECL will not be able to implement the project with the limited manpower and expertise as the loss incurred by the corporation for the year is Rs 700 crore.
