Shillong, Oct 1: The death toll in the MTC bus accident rose to eight with the recovery of two more bodies on Friday.
The state disaster response force (in picture) was able to recover the bodies of the last two male victims from Ringdi river in Nongshram village, East Garo Hills.

Earlier, bodies of six persons, including the driver of the bus, were recovered.
Concerned over the plight of the relatives of the deceased and the injured, Congress MLA PT Sawkmie has asked the MDA government to provide Rs 5 lakh each to the families of the deceased and Rs 1 lakh to the injured.
