Delhi nod to new youth Congress president
Shillong,Feb 24: Adrian L Chyne Mylliem, a degree holder in psychology from Raffles College, Singapore, has been elected and appointed as the Meghalaya Pradesh Youth Congress president.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the MPCC said Adrian has been handling his family business but his wish to serve the people was strong and he started his career in public service.
At the age of 28 years, he comes with a rich experience in political sphere, having worked extensively at the grassroot level while accompanying his father, Lamboklang Mylliem, former MLA from Jirang in 2013, the MPCC said.
Along with him, two other youth leaders, L Banphiralang Basaiawmoit and Henry Kharmuti were also selected, and have been assigned the responsibility of Vice Presidents of the MPYC.
“The Congress party is putting a lot of emphasis in the next generation leaders, and calls upon the people to come forward and be involved in this paradigm shift within the polity of the state. The future of this state rests upon the shoulders of the youth”, the Congress said.
