Shillong, Sep 20: Opposition Leader Ronnie Lyngdoh (Congress) on Wednesday suggested the need to have AIMS institute in the state.
During the question hour, Ronnie wanted the government to pursue the matter by upgrading NEIGRIHMS to the status of AIMS
Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh said there is a USP in AIMS and the government will pursue the matter.
“The chief minister will write to the Centre in this regard”, she said.
MMDSL
Ronnie also sought clarity on Meghalaya Medical Drugs and Service Limited ( MMDSL) especially about the constitution of the Board of directors and those who are holding shares.
De-addiction centres
Ronnie and Brightstarwell Marbaniang (VPP) also wanted the government to set up de-addiction centres.
Marbaniang wanted the government to set up a de-addiction centre in Mawlai.
Chief Minister Conrad Sangma intervened and said that due to printing error, the question came up up on Wednesday and pointed out departmental-mixed questions.
Ronnie said it is the duty of the Assembly Legislation wing to segregate the questions.
The speaker regretted the error and assured the House that this will not be repeated.
