Shillong, Jan 19: The cabinet has approved relaxation of upper age limit for government jobs for five years.
Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma told reporters on Wednesday that the age relaxation for others is from 27 to 32 years while for Scheduled Tribes (STs) another five years will be added and that is 37.

However, recruitment by the home (police), forest guards, home guards and civil defence and certain posts in the prisons department are exempted from the decision.
“The uniform posts that are there which require a slightly more physical work will have same age limit as before and there will be no change in that,” he said.
