Shillong, June 29: The state government wanted all employees to vaccinate themselves against Covid-19.
According to an order issued by the chief secretary, MS Rao, all state government employees are advised to get themselves vaccinated at the earliest.
“This will ensure the health and safety of all employees working in the Meghalaya Civil Secretariat and other offices like Directorates, offices of the Chief Engineers, state government corporations and societies”, the order said.
This was following the notification issued by the Health & Family Welfare department on SOP on preventive measures to contain spread of Covid-19 in offices and other establishments.
The chief secretary also asked the heads of the departments or the controlling authorities to monitor the vaccination status of the government employees.
A record of the vaccination status will also have to be maintained.
Tests mandatory
However, the chief secretary said those who do not get vaccinated are advised to get themselves tested at regular intervals-once in 10 days-as a measure of safety and produce the report to the heads of departments or the controlling authority.
