Hek named chairperson of central scheme monitoring cell
State BJP shows national devp report card for support in 2023 Assembly elections
Shillong, Mar 22: The BJP on Tuesday named former minister AL Hek as the chairman of the Central Scheme Monitoring Cell (CSMC).
BJP state president Ernest Mawrie said, “He (Hek) will take the initiative to ensure proper implementation of the central schemes by the different departments’ right from the state to the district council level.”
The Centre had allotted several schemes through the 15th Finance Commission to KHADC, JHADC and GHADC and Hek has to monitor the implementation of the same, Mawrie informed.
The saffron party is also gearing up for the Assembly elections next year and has sought support of the electorate for “good governance” and “focus on development”.
Mawrie said the BJP had recently won in four out of five states with a thumping majority, adding, “Why have people in those states supported the BJP? It is because the agenda of the party is development.”
Mawrie informed that the state unit would form an election manifesto committee. Both its MLAs, Hek and Sanbor Shullai, will be part of the committee.
“We will have two parts – one for local issues and the other one for general issues concerning the state,” he said.
The party will focus on schemes like Jal Jeevan Mission, Saubhagya and PMGSY for providing water connection, electrification and construction of roads, respectively.
