Shillong, Nov 24: Meghalaya Human Rights Commission (MHRC) has issued a notice to Ri Bhoi Superintendent of Police on the death of Hudderfield Rymbui after he was hit by a police escort vehicle on November 15.
According to the commission, based on the complaint of the president of Meghalaya Pradesh Mahila Congress,Joplin Scott Shylla, the MHRC issued the notice to Ri Bhoi SP to complete the probe within 20 days.
The notice was issued on November 21.
After the incident, there was criticism over VIP culture.
Last week, the concerned citizens observed a candle light vigil seeking justice to the victim.
Police had already seized the escort vehicle.
According to the police, all relevant records are being seized and statements being recorded .
Police said the chargesheet will be submitted within the stipulated period of 60 days.
