India’s GDP in Q3 up 8.4% on manufacturing, construction sectors

New Delhi, Feb 29 (Agencies): The country’s GDP during the period between the period October and December grew 8.4%, according to the Q3 data for FY2023-24 released by the Statistics Ministry on Thursday.

Lauding the economic performance, Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted on X, “Robust 8.4% GDP growth in Q3 2023-24 shows the strength of Indian economy and its potential. Our efforts will continue to bring fast economic growth which shall help 140 crore Indians lead a better life and create a Viksit Bharat!”

The high growth rate has been driven by the double-digit growth in the manufacturing sector at 11.6% and 9.5% growth in the construction sector.

“The Indian economy remained resilient with robust 7.6% growth rate of GDP in FY 2023-24 over and above 7% growth rate in FY 2022-23,” the Ministry said. It revised the growth rate for Q1 of the current financial year from 7.8% to 8.2%.
