Shillong, Feb 29: The KSU Laban circle protested in Maxwelton Estate and constructed a hut for a Khasi resident symbolically opposing ‘illegal settlers’ while the South Shillong legislator Sanbor Shullai said that since the matter is sub-judice, he can’t comment on the matter.
Earlier in the day, the KSU had put up banners in and around the Maxwelton Estate where there is a mixed population.

The union had set a 14-day deadline on February 14 to evict the settlers.
Last week, the High Court of Meghalaya had asked the government to ensure that no disturbance is caused in the area.
