Shillong, Sep 4: The Jaintia National Council (JNC) has written to the executive engineer of the PWD, Khliehriat NEC division, demanding the repair of the roads in Khliehriat.
The council said the roads in Khliehriat town are dilapidated. “They need urgent attention as the ongoing rain is worsening the condition,” said JNC president Shanborlang Bamon.

He added that locals are inconvenienced as they struggle to commute to offices, healthcare centres and educational institutes.
JNC requested the executive engineer to consider it a top priority for the benefit of the locals.
