Kashmir ‘incomplete’ till the return of Pandits: Mehbooba
Srinagar, Aug 30 (UNI): People’s Democratic Party Chief Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday said Kashmir was ‘incomplete’ till the return of Kashmiri Pandits to their homeland.
The former Chief Minister of the erstwhile state said the migration of the Kashmiri Pandits was a significant loss.
“J & K, particularly Kashmir has suffered immensely and several lives have been lost. I believe that Kashmiri Pandit brothers and sisters who left the valley were a great loss. This loss cannot be compensated till they return back and live together with Muslim brethren in a peaceful atmosphere,” Mufti told reporters at Bijbehara in Anantnag district of south Kashmir after visiting the ancient Thajiwara Temple.
She said her father Mufti Mohammad Sayeed used to say they somehow failed to stop the migration of Kashmir Pandits. “As CM of J&K Mufti sahib wished to bring Kashmiri Pandits back to their homeland and provide them a favourable atmosphere so that they return to Kashmir,” Mehbooba added.
A PDP spokesman said the temple visit by Mufti in Bijbehara underlined this spirit of inclusivity.
