Khasi movie suffers loss due to law and order issue

Shillong, Nov 25: A Khasi movie which was to be screened from Friday suffered a loss due to the law and order situation in Shillong.
Wanri Pyngrope, the lead actress of the Khasi movie Ka daw, said the producer incurred heavy loss as the movie could not be screened from November 25 due to the prevailing law and order situation. Kiki Garod is the producer.

The move produced at the cost of over Rs 25 lakh may incur the loss of at least Rs 1 crore, she said.
Wanri said Ka daw will be the first movie from the region using UFO so that it can be screened in cinema halls across the country.
UFO operates the country’s largest satellite-based digital cinema distribution network using its UFO-M4 platform besides India’s largest D-Cinema network.
