Largest film fest underway in Bengaluru
Bengaluru, Oct 9 (UNI): The 5th edition of the most prestigious Innovative International Film Festival 2022 is underway at Innovative Film Academy here.
As many as 150 films have been curated from 40 different countries, spanning a variety of genres in 30 different languages. The participants who are participating in the festival are from countries like Abu Dhabi, Israel, Canada, and France.
The main highlight of the festival has been the short film contest conducted by IFA in association with TANTIS – Tamil Nadu Film Directors’ Association, giving opportunity to 100s of aspiring filmmakers and students.
The jury shortlisted 50 films which were re-created under the guidance and mentorship of the TANTIS Directors are being screened at Innovative’s I-Studio.
Masterclasses were not only held with South India’s film veterans, but also with leaders from AVGC sector.
The festival also attracted the attention of the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting as MIB Secretary Apurva Chandra was invited as the chief guest.
Sessions are being organised by government offices of National Film Development Corporation, Film Facilitation Office of India and Skill Development Departments for the benefit of young filmmakers.
Besides the film screenings, the festival beheld India’s first virtual production studio, ECSC (entertainment, culture, sport and wellness centres), and a short-film competition.
Aiming to foster the craft of filmmaking among aspiring filmmakers from illustrious representatives, the festival kicked off with a screening of the well-regarded Israeli film, Fig Tree.
The festival is also used for networking opportunities with popular feature film filmmakers as well as recognizing outstanding filmmaking through specially curated awards.
