Make your own skin hydration solution at home
The skincare landscape has evolved significantly over the past decade, with consumers increasingly seeking formulations without the heaviness of traditional moisturisers, especially during the summer, to keep their skin happy, hydrated and protected.
Lightweight, water-based or gel-based face creams are ideal for hot and humid weather as they hydrate without clogging pores, offer a non-greasy feel, and manage excessive sebum in high heat.
Lightweight face creams represent this shift toward balanced, efficacious skincare that delivers results without compromising comfort or skin health.
Lightweight face cream has become a staple for those who want hydrated, comfortable skin, especially for oily or combination skin.
Lightweight face creams provide non-greasy, fast-absorbing hydration, making them ideal for daily use during the summer season when the heat and humidity can leave you sweaty and shiny. These weightless creams are designed to sink into your skin quickly while providing substantial nourishment.
Besides nourishment, these also work well with make-up to prevent pilling and caking. These are suitable across multiple skin types that deliver results without sitting on the surface, unlike their heavier counterparts.
These formulations contain Hyaluronic acid, ceramides and plant extracts that absorb quickly without leaving you greasy and work well under makeup.
While choosing a lightweight face cream, opt for fast-absorbing, non-comedogenic formulas that suit your skin type, such as gel-based for oily skin or light lotions for dry skin. Look for ingredients like hyaluronic acid, glycerine and ceramides. Opt for oil-free, alcohol-free options, especially for sensitive skin.
Most moisturisers consist of an emollient, a humectant and an occlusive. Emollients help repair the skin’s natural barrier, humectants absorb water into the skin, and occlusive agents help form a layer on the surface of our skin.
Since lightweight moisturisers are quick-absorbing, they can be easily layered with other skincare products/makeup without interfering with their performance.
In the summer, when the warmer temperature makes your skin produce more oil, watery lotions and gels are perfect to counteract oily skin.
Homemade skincare creams always work because they don’t contain any chemicals or harsh additives. It will be far better than a store-bought face cream, and you will not have to struggle with any side effects. Here are a few tips to make Homemade Light Face Creams using natural ingredients.
