Mamata confident of MGP-TMC winning next assembly polls in Goa
Panaji, Dec 13 (UNI): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday expressed confidence that the Trinamool Congress and the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) alliance would win the next assembly elections to held early next year in Goa.
Speaking at International Centre Goa here, she said, “TMC and MGP will win the elections. If anyone wants to defeat BJP it’s up to them to support us.”
Banerjee said she thought of talking on the BJP as no other party was fighting with the ruling party. “Nobody fights BJP that is why I decided to take it on. If BJP can contest in West Bengal why can’t TMC in Goa,” she said.
The TMC supremo said she wanted to see overall development of Goa.
“I want to see Goa as a sweet and cute state. Everybody in Goa should be well. Youth of Goa will have to take leadership,” she said.
Banerjee said states should be strong and so should be the federal structure. She is on a three-day visit to the poll bound state.
Banerjee also met prominent editors of media houses at the International Centre Goa (ICG) here.
In a tweet, Banerjee said, “Today, I met with several prominent Editors of Media houses at the International Centre in Goa.”
“I congratulate them for their outstanding achievements and salute their perseverance in preserving the sanctity of the Fourth Pillar of Democracy!” she said.
