Shillong, July 27: BJP legislator Sanbor Shullai was inducted in the cabinet based on the letter of BJP president Ernest Mawrie.
Shullai was sworn in as cabinet minister by Governor Satya Pal Malik on Tuesday evening.
Later, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma told reporters that it was based on the letter of the state party president Ernest Mawrie that Shullai was inducted.
Sources said that the Union Home Minister Amit Shah during his visit to Shillong approved the induction of Shullai in the cabinet following which Mawrie submitted the letter to the chief minister and AL Hek tendered his resignation.
Conrad said in 2018 , the leaders of the BJP had discussed about the rotation of the ministers . While similar arrangement was done by HSPDP after Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar replaced Samlin Malngiang and Comingone Ymbon gave way to NPP MLA Dasakhiat Lamare, the BJP followed the pattern resulting in the induction of Sanbor.
