
Shillong, Aug 27: The state government has opened helpline and emergency contact numbers to know the status of Meghalaya residents affected in flash flood in Nepal.

PUBLIC NOTICE
A devastating flash flood and mudslide occurred in Nepal on 26 August 2026, particularly in the Rasuwa district near the Nepal–Tibet border. The disaster caused extensive damage to villages, roads, bridges and other infrastructure, with a large number of people reported missing or un contactable.
In view of the above, information is being sought regarding persons from Meghalaya who may be missing or un-contactable in Nepal.
Family members, relatives, friends, travel agencies/tour operators and members of the public having information regarding any such person are requested to contact:
