Mother’s School holds Green Week

Shillong, June 23: Sri Aurobindo Institute of Indian Culture, Mother’s School, organised  Green Week recently.

One week-programme with an objective to generate awareness and action for the environment started on June 5.

State department of horticulture contributed 20 fruit plants and they were planted.

To grace the occasion, D Sohtun, Director  Horticulture and a team of Horticulture Department carried out the programme by exploring nature through activities like plantation campaigning and waste recycling initiatives.

Students and staff planted more saplings.

Poster display under the theme 2024 World Environment Day marked the occasion.

Farida Khan, Principal Mother’s school said,  “We want the world to be safe, clean and beautiful. Let us all engage in learning from  experience that fosters a sense of responsibility and connection to the natural world”, she said.

Together, we can nurture the next generation who will continue to protect and cherish our planet, she added.
