Shillong, Dec 12: Mrong Mahari Association, Tura organised a marathon for its members on Saturday.
In a statement, R M Sangma, general secretary, MMA , Tura said that every year the Association organises such programmes in the interest of its members. This year too, marathon race was held at Chibragre – Babadam road which is about 15 km from Tura.
The purpose of organising such programme is for the well-being of its members, Sangma said.
Participants from different age groups joined the marathon enthusiastically. The District Sports Officer S M Marak flagged off the marathon in the morning.
The winners of the marathon are C Category : Yangkibon Marak , Kakam Marak and Eshana , B1 Category : – Nogowamai Marak, Chekame and Chandrika , B2 Category : Rutlinesh Marak, Prebina and Suritha, A1 Category : Rimma Marak, Lesley and Manchekam, A2 Category : Leolind Marak, Happry and Bilseng.
