Mukul wants answers from govt on coal and NPP office issue

Shillong,May 28: AITC leader Mukul Sangma on Saturday said irregularities and corruption related to illegal coal mining should be stopped.

He was replying to questions from journalists regarding media reports on alleged nexus between coal mafia and politicians.

Conrad also sought answers from the government on the construction of NPP office allegedly without obtaining building permission.

Speaking to reporters on Saturday after forming North Shillong Block Committee of AITC, the former chief minister said that as far as coal mining issue is concerned, the government cannot be on denial mode.

On the alleged construction of NPP office flouting government norms, Mukul said, “I have to find out, I am yet to know, because somebody has to tell us whether the authorities have allowed it to happen.”

According to Mukul, if it is completely illegal, the government should seal it.
