The employees said that on Tuesday afternoon they had a general meeting and it was decided to carry on with the strike.

After a case was taken up with the High Court of Meghalaya, the court in 2020 had ordered to provide the employees the salary as per the fifth pay commission recommendations.

Later, the employees filed a contempt of court case against the government for not adhering to the order.

The employees had received the salary only till July.
