Shillong, May 8: The makeSomeoneSMILE team distributed breakfast, snacks and tea for police personnel involved in traffic duty in the city besides the SF-10 and the MLP personnel.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Anky, the founder of makeSomeoneSMILE, said that the team had noticed two days ago that the police personnel, who are engaged for round the clock duty, are facing hardships as they are not able to avail any edibles while on duty amid strict lockdown in the city.
“Overall, more than 100 personnel happily accepted the gesture saying “its so thoughtful of you that even in rain, you all stepped forward for this”, Anky said.
The team had earlier found a local street vendor and made arrangement for distribution of edibles thereby also helping him to have some earnings.
Anky had been supporting many parents of persons who are out station.
Anky said the team is also supporting many Covid positive families who are quarantined.
“Every activity was conducted with strict adherence to Covid guidelines and norms”, he said.
The team appealed to people to take care of themselves and do whatever they can to help the needy.
