Shillong, July 4: The RTI queries on Covid expenditure have remain unanswered, according to BJP MDC Bernard N Marak.
“BJP karyakartas moved RTI queries through District Administration in the West and East Garo Hills seeking information on Covid situation, including expenditure in the district but they are yet to be answered,” Marak said in a statement issued on Sunday.
Questions on central schemes
Marak said the BJP also filed questions under RTI on implementation of various central schemes launched by the BJP government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He said BJP wants to ensure that all the schemes meant for the poor and the genuine beneficiaries reach them without depriving even a single person.
“There is a complaint that the schemes are not reaching the poor as promised by the Prime Minister and therefore, the BJP has filed queries under RTI and the replies will reveal if the schemes are fully implemented or partially implemented,” he said.
No names of beneficiaries
The BJP leader further said that the Tura Municipal Board had recently replied to the RTI query seeking information on MLA and MP schemes. “The reply was given with details of work but without the names of beneficiaries”, he added.
