Shillong, Feb 10:The state government will not resort to power cuts since it cleared pending power dues of companies with Rs 1345 crore Atma Nirbhar loan from the Centre.
Besides the normal shutdown for repair works and maintenance, there will be no power shutdown.

The official said this will be a relief for students preparing for upcoming board examinations.
The government is purchasing power daily from the companies.
A senior government official said to sustain itself, power generation is the current focus of MeECL.
Upcoming projects
The official added that the pending projects include the 22 mw Ganol hydro electric plant, Leskha stage 2 (60 mw) Suchen-Tamar solar power project (30 mw) and Sonapahar Mini Hydel project.
