Shillong,Jan 24: The state government has decided to carry on with online classes for class 1 to 12 in Shillong and Shillong urban agglomeration.
In other areas of the state, offline classes will continue.
The colleges and higher education institutions will design their own online mode of classes.
According to a notification issued on Monday, the education department said that the decision was due to the surge in Covid cases.
The elementary to higher secondary school teachers are to attend schools as per their roster duty to complete the tasks via online or by parental distribution at the school campus.
Full syllabus
In a separate notification, the department said that for classes 1 to 12, the academic session will be till March 12 this year
100% syllabus will be followed for all levels and the assessment will be based on full syllabus, it added.
