Online teaching insufficient, class room teaching should return: Rymbui
Shillong, March 15: Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui said the state government is taking steps to overcome the disruption to education caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Replying to a query raised by Gambegre legislator Saleng A Sangma in the Assembly, Rymbui said class room teaching should return as online teaching is insufficient.
He said the government has also taken many initiatives to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in government aided schools across the state.
Under this, he said the government is setting up smart classrooms, ICT laboratories, science laboratories and capacity building programme of Maths and Science teachers under Supporting Human Capital Development Project in Meghalaya.
He said 731 schools are having computers and 297 schools have computers with internet facility.
