Shillong, Oct 21:The harvesting of paddy along the Lapangap-Tapat villages will begin on Wednesday.
According to a police official, thanks to the intervention of Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, the CEM of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) and the traditional leaders, the matter about harvesting has been resolved.
The harvesting of paddy will begin from Wednesday along the Lapangap-Tapat villages As a matter of caution, police presence will be there to provide security and to prohibit any outsiders’ influencing the recently acquired state of peace and tranquility”, the official added.
Police appreciated the patience and restraint shown by residents of Lapangap and assured security.

Police released a video of an adjoining village to Lapangap, where Pnar farmers were assisted by Karbi farmers during harvest.
