Pala accuses govt of arresting only Cong workers

Shillong, Oct 28: MPCC president Vincent Pala has accused the government of only arresting Congress workers following the clash between NPP and Congress workers on Wednesday evening in Rajabala.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Pala said when the Congress workers were returning after a party rally , they were attacked by the rival party members.

“Stones were pelted at our workers and in the crowd some retaliation took place but the government is arresting only our supporters”, Pala said.

According to Pala, though the NPP workers started the attack, blame is on the Congress since the government is taking action against only the Congress workers.

He said the NPP is threatened since the Congress is strong in Rajabala.

Pala said he will speak to the West Garo Hills SP, the DC and the CEO so that impartial action can be taken.
