PM to review Covid situation in North East

Video meet with chief ministers on Tuesday

New Delhi, July 12 (UNI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with the chief ministers of northeastern states on Covid-19 situation via video conference on July 13.

Modi will speak to the chief ministers of Assam, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Manipur, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram and take stock of the situation as many districts in the region have shown rising trends in the past few days.

Some of the districts in the northeastern states have reported increase of 10% in Covid-19 cases, an official said on Monday.

Modi has been regularly reviewing coronavirus situation and health facilities. On July 9, he had reviewed the status of setting up of oxygen plants and directed the concerned officials to start 1,500 PSA Oxygen plants funded by PM Care Fund and Public Sector Units at the earliest.

The prime minister also directed the officials to deploy advance technology such as Internet of Things (IoT) to track performance and functioning of oxygen plants at local and national level.
