Shillong, Oct 4: A day after the body of Marbisu girl was recovered from Knian river in Marbisu, the police spotted the body of the boy in the river on Wednesday around 7.30 am.
The body was recovered later.
The duo-Wanboklang Kurbah (20) and Phibankyntiew Sun (18) had gone missing on September 20.
Police are looking into all angles, including suicide as the relatives of the girl did not want the relationship of the duo to continue citing blood relation.
According to the police, on September 20, the mother noticed a new mobile phone with the daughter and when questioned, she revealed it was given by her boyfriend which angered the mother. Police suspect that this triggered the incident.
The relatives of the boy sought postmortem exemption as they do not see any foul play.
The post mortem of the girl was conducted on Wednesday and the body was taken to Marbisu.
