Shillong, Nov 14: Congress MLA Ampareen Lyngdoh said the move to have pre-poll alliance is not a weakness of the party but a strength and a strategy.
Recently, after Ampareen mooted the idea of pre-poll alliance , several opponents had termed it as weakness of the Congress.
However, Ampareen made it clear that she would prefer pre-poll alliance with like-minded parties ahead of 2023 Assembly polls.
“Many small parties will emerge and one( Ardent Basaiawmoit’s party) has already come up , we would like to have pre-poll understanding with them”, she said
Lyngdoh said this does not mean that the party will not put up candidates in all the 60 seats but the idea is to rope in parties so that the aim is to have a government which fulfils the aspirations of the people of the state.
