Probe panel on Cherish gets extension for 3 months

Commission examines two more police personnel & doctor

Shillong,Feb 27: The judicial inquiry commission probing the death of former HNLC leader Cherishstarfield Thangkhiew got an extension for three months.

According to a notification, the extension was granted from February 25.

The commission headed by retired Chief Justice T Vaiphei had it’s sitting on Friday and Saturday.

An official said during the hearing for two days, two more police personnel were examined as witnesses besides the doctor who carried out postmortem on the body of the victim.

Earlier, two police personnel were examined.

The commission has fixed next date of hearing for March 11 and 12.
