Shillong, May 11: Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said the process is on to enhance the salary of the ad hoc teachers in the state.
FASTOM has already announced to hold a mass rally on Thursday afternoon as the Chief Minister Conrad Sangma did not invite them for talks.
“I would like to tell you that the preparation for enhancement of the adhoc grant is almost in the final stage,” Tynsong said.
He also urged the teachers to have patience, “Let us wait till the final decision is taken,” he said.
Tynsong said it is important for people to understand that “we need to have a detailed discussion not only with the education department alone but the finance and the planning departments also have to be in line with this particular issue of enhancing the adhoc grant.”
