Shillong, Sept 23: After the record temperature of 29.9 degree Celsius till noon, the afternoon rain on Monday brought down the temperature to 22.5 degree Celsius.
As the recording of maximum temperature by the Upper Shillong Meterological Centre was done before the rain, it stood at 29.9 similar to September 22 data.

However, an official with the Upper Shillong Meterological Centre said Automatic Weather Stations showed the temperature at 22.5 degree Celsius.
“The maximum temperature of 29.9 was reached much before the rainfall..Now with the system coming, we will have cooler days”, said the official.
Rainfall upto last observations at 2.30 pm was 13.7 mm.
