Shillong, Nov 15: Khasi youth Vicky Nelson Marbaniang (in picture) has pointed out that the reservation policy is against the interest of the Khasi-Jaintia category.
Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, Marbaniang said lack of response on the part of the government to address the unemployment problem in the state had compelled the FKJGP to hit the street.
‘I am approaching the media to address the people of Meghalaya regarding the unfairness of the reservation policy of Meghalaya towards the Khasi and Jaintia people and the four arrested FKJGP youth among others were fighting for the rights of the youth of the state who are unemployed”, he said.
HC job opening
Marbaniang said recently the High Court had job opening for 23 persons.
“Out of this, while the Khasi-Jaintia category had only 11. 5 per cent reservation, for Garos, it was 54 per cent”, he said while expressing his displeasure over the matter.
