Rymbui calls for training of teachers  

Shillong, Aug 9: Education Minister, L Rymbui on Monday launched the National Initiative for School Heads and Teachers for Holistic Advancement (NISHTHA) 2.0 and stressed the need of providing adequate training to teachers in the state.

NISHTHA is an integrated training programme for Secondary and Higher Secondary teachers of Meghalaya

Addressing the gathering at the Conference Hall, Directorate of Education Research & Training, Shillong, Rymbui urged  the teaching fraternity to take part in the online training programme which will benefit the teachers in the future.

He also said teaching is a profession requiring specialisation in terms of knowledge and skills. He further said education has played a vital role and has contributed a lot in shaping the students and the society.

He also said that one of the most important requirements to promote and strengthen education is the training of teachers who are the key resources in the reform, redirection and renewal of education.

Secretary, Education Department, A Ch Marak, Deputy Director (DERT), P B Lartang besides others were present.
